Back in the saddle, again.

It is hard to believe that I actually accepted another consulting gig but I did. I was planning to have a relaxing summer and just give some tours at the butterfly exhibit as well as improve my golf game.

I got a phone call last Friday from a recruiting company and they asked me if I would like to come back to work for the District of Columbia government doing some classification. I said I was not too interested and they persisted in talking. I gave them a dollar figure that was even higher than the pay I was receiving last time I worked here. The company recruiter said they could not pay that amount so I said goodbye. Tuesday, she called back and said they would pay my requested rate if I could start on the following day - so here I am.

They are all nice people here at the office and the building is even pretty good to work in. It is just a very short walk from the Metro (the subway system to you non-locals). I have no complaints at all except having to get up early in the morning. They are agreeable to me working from my home office two or three days a week like I did before. My work quantity and quality is good enough so they do not have to worry about that at all.

It is too bad that I cannot persuade Jimbo from the old Agency to work here with me. That would be a lot of fun to have the DC Government staffed with former "Old Agency" employees. We would be able to take over in no time!!

Lunch time is just about over and being a dedicated contractor, I have to close this post and get back to work. Can you believe I could type that and keep a straight face?
